Versini's former wife and mother of the boy has re-married into a higher social class and asks Versini to meet the boy who has requested to meet his biological father. Versini's attempts to win the boy's love and respect escalate throughout the film, in spite of this middle aged "Fannulloni"'s shortcomings.
